Your efforts will be key in identifying and resolving data issues that impact operational processes, risk management protocols, and transformation projects. This position serves as the crucial liaison between business units and data management teams, embedding robust data quality practices to facilitate informed decision-making and seamless execution of business processes based on trustworthy data. The role demands a proactive approach to data governance, focusing on prevention of recurring data issues and fostering a culture of data stewardship. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders to align data quality initiatives with the bank’s strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational needs. A strong emphasis will be placed on continuous improvement and the integration of data quality principles into everyday business practices, enabling agile responses to evolving market and regulatory landscapes. Working within a dynamic and complex financial environment, you will utilise your expertise to influence and drive data governance frameworks that support sustainable banking operations and robust risk controls. Key Responsibilities Strategy Development and Execution Collaborate closely with senior management to develop and implement data quality (DQ) and governance strategies aligned with regulatory requirements and the bank’s broader business goals. Conduct continuous evaluations to identify areas where improved data quality can mitigate risks, optimise operational efficiencies, and enhance client satisfaction. Champion data quality initiatives and advocate for data governance integration into key strategic projects and transformation programmes. Business Partnership and Issue Resolution Act as the primary escalation point for high-priority data issues that disrupt business activities, client interactions, risk controls, and change delivery. Work collaboratively with business stakeholders, technology teams, and control functions to diagnose data problems, define remediation pathways, and secure consensus across various business units. Ensure embedding of data governance practices within business processes, balancing compliance with operational agility and enabling informed decision-making. Processes Scope is limited to CIB processes, but more primarily those for Banking, Coverage and Markets (including FSS) Define and work with the respective processes to uplift / implement DQ controls, standards and remediation processes across critical datasets Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and product owners Monitor and report on DQ metrics and KPIs, to the businesses to ensure transparency of risks and business impact Support adoption of tooling and platforms to automate monitoring, issue tracking and resolution processes. Strong knowledge in SCB’s Operational Risk framework and DQMS framework is preferred People & Talent Effectively manages relevant business stakeholders across CIB Risk Management Work closely with the CIB Stakeholders, Group CDO teams and the broader Data Team to drive reduction of the Data risks and monitor all major risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, perform the upwards escalations of key risks, issues and/or challenges encountered. Governance Supports the setup and/or maintenance of the relevant governance forums/ WG Regulatory & Business Conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
